CQC certification (China Quality Certification) is an important part of China's voluntary product certification system, managed and implemented by the China Quality Certification Center (CQC). Unlike the mandatory CCC certification, CQC certification is a non-mandatory certification that aims to help companies improve product quality, enhance market competitiveness, and meet the requirements of specific industries or purchasers.
CCC is China's mandatory certification for 20+ product categories (e.g., electronics, toys), enforced by law. CQC is voluntary, serving as a quality benchmark for non-regulated products. Non-CCC compliance risks penalties; CQC boosts market appeal.
CCC covers safety/EMC for products like wires and household appliances. CQC focuses on performance metrics (energy efficiency, durability) for items outside CCC scope, including some industrial and IT equipment.
CCC tests fundamental safety requirements (electrical, mechanical). CQC examines higher-level standards (e.g., GB energy ratings, environmental impact), often with stricter sample sizes and longer test durations.
The CCC mark is legally required for sales; CQC certification signals premium quality, influencing procurement decisions. Many retailers/buyers demand both for high-end products to ensure compliance and superior performance.
