On November 25, 2024, ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 was officially approved by the European Union and will be required to be enforced on February 29, 2028. During the transition period, since this version has not yet been cited by the EU Official Journal (OJ), the certification test recommendation is still based on the old version of ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1.1.
1. Compared with the previous version, there are the following major technical changes:
1) Band 4 (5725-5850MHz) of Wi-Fi 5GHz is included in the standard, so that the equipment in this band can be certified using ETSI EN 301 893. Previously, this band usually used ETSI EN 300 440 standard for certification testing.
2) 5150-5350MHz is divided into sub-band 1 and sub-band 2, and the test channels in Section 5.3.2 are adjusted to require independent evaluation of sub-band 1 and sub-band 2, including power, power spectral density, in-band mask, etc., which need to evaluate the lowest and highest channels of the two sub-bands separately;
3) In Section 4.2.4, the in-band mask test requirements for multi-channel operation are added, and Appendix I also adds the multi-channel operation mask Example.
4) The adaptive detection threshold has changed, but the specific content of the change is not clearly given in detail in the standard.
5) A new reception blocking judgment standard has been added in Section 4.2.8.3. For products that do not support bit error rate, such as wireless audio products, they can be judged according to the normal transmission function.
6) Section 4.2.9 has added adjacent channel selectivity test requirements.
